Saulius Rutkauskas, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof., a radiologist, has been elected as the new Vice Chairperson of the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR) Ultrasound Subcommittee for a three-year term. Together with the entire ESSR team, Saulius Rutkauskas will continue the work initiated by his colleagues and launch new, significant projects aimed at improving the accessibility and quality of ultrasound diagnostic examinations worldwide.
17 YERS OF EXPERIENCE
Saulius Rutkauskas, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof., finished a Radiology residency at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in 2009. During the study, he developed an interest in the unique possibilities of MSK ultrasound diagnostics. The radiologist evaluates ultrasonographically more than 100 patients with various MSK pathologies weekly. One-third are pediatric patients. The doctor heads the Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Ultrasound Society in Lithuania and has organized over 80 local and international ultrasound seminars and conferences dedicated to MSK Ultrasound. He has co-authored two textbooks and more than 16 peer-reviewed articles on ultrasound. MD Saulius Rutkauskas is a member of the Ultrasound Subcommittee of the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR) and the European Society of Radiology (ESR), and gives lectures and tutoring in many international MSK Ultrasound-dedicated seminars in Finland, Italy, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, the Nederland, India, Colombia, Iraq, and the USA.
